IXCR Round #3
S.I.C.C. Report
5/6/2012
King of the Mountain
Someone forgot to let me know we were into summer
racing already because the heat on Sunday felt like July!
Not only was the temperature hot but so was the racing.
And with a lot of new things at this race it turned out to be
an awesome day of racing for everyone who came out.
Conditions started out a little slick for the youth bikes but
you couldn’t tell based on how fast some of these kids ride.
Zach Mehuron out of Covington, KY was our top overall
finisher followed up by Honda mounted Dawson Dunnuck.
Zach Adams Rounded out the podium. A special shout out
to our Girls Super Mini rider Whitney Baker on her first
place finish along with Daniel Lynch for winning the 85cc
class. Tyler Darmons was the 85cc runner up with Garren
Bell (awesome first name buddy!!!) taking 3rd. In the 65cc
class we had Landong Lamaster in 3rd, Ethan Sowder 2nd,
and Isaac Langston was the winner.
In the Youth quad race we saw a nasty wreck in the first
corner but I’m hearing that the little guy is doing good so
we are very happy about that! The overall for the Youth
riders saw Kristian Meyer finish out front followed up
by Drew Moore, and Tyler Swindle. These three young
riders were also the three in the super mini class. The
90 modified class came down to the wire with Curtis
Bausback edging out Dylan Conwell. Ryan Reed won
the 90 stock class with walker Taylor 2nd and Dalton Keys
rounding out the top three. Kaleeb Williams continued his
ways by taking another win in the 70cc open class.
The Big Bike class saw 194 entries and the track had been
primed for perfect conditions. Traction could be found
anywhere and everywhere you wanted it. With a six mile
track and a nice mix of everything I think this may have
been one of the best tracks we’ve had. Teddy Mullins was
able to fight off the competition and put a 20 gap between
him and Zach Nash who finished 2nd. Austin Lee a former
youth rider has stepped up to the Pro class and finished
3rd on this day. Our highest finishing non-pro rider was
A Class rider Marty Michels coming up from Kentucky
and putting his Gill Roofing/FLY Racing backed KTM out
front. He edged out Luke Chilman from the A Lites class
who finished 9th overall. Mark Labelle came up to 11th
overall and took a win in the Senior A 40+ class. In Vet
A 30+ Jeffrey Lauth was the quickest, along with Charlie
Mullins in Super Senior A 50+. Clint Parker should have
us some good helmet cam coverage from the B class where
he finished 2nd place behind Josh Keys. Zeb Gronotte
another KY native took home 1st place wood in B Lites
along with Travis Carlisle in Vet B. Bill Sturgeon found
his way to the front of Senior B 40+, just like Lloyd Fry
(Super Senior B 50+) and Brandon Perry in the C Class.
The quad classes were greeted with names announced
on the starting line and a new race announcer in Michael
Brinkley. He is a very good guy and runs with the
Bangedup crew. Be sure to stop by and say hey to
Mr. Brinkley, he’s doing a great job and he is also be
broadcasted on the radio from the track.

This race saw a first time overall winner. He has been
racing for a long time and just working his way up thru
the ranks but a big IXCR congrats to my buddy Fred
Marley! 2nd overall came from the A 15+ class and that
was Bryson Neal on his C. Neal Excavating Hondoo. 3rd
overall was Blingstar’s Kevin Cunningham. Brigham
Patterson finished up 14th overall and won the C 15-21
class. Spencer Haggard won the Vet B 30+ class and
Sandy Ruth did the same by pulling the Halcomb Home
Center Holeshot and held the lead for one hour fifty eight
minutes and ten seconds until he got the checkers. Justin
Remley put some time on the C22+ class and took home
gold along with Shawn Nash in the C 30+ class. Scott
Smith cleaned house in the Sport class along with Jeremy
Head in the Utility division.
With all kinds of new and exciting things going on all
across the state we are very excited to have everyone
coming out and enjoying the tracks. Don’t forget GNCC
comes to town next weekend at the Lawrence County track
and IXCR will be back in action June 17th for the Fathers
day race in Medora, In.
Until next time, stay between the trees!
Garon Davis
